Husband’s Delight Casserole

Ingredients
For the Casserole:

1 lb (450 g) ground beef or ground turkey
1 medium onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1 cup sour cream
2 cups frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
2 cups cooked egg noodles
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (plus more for topping)
For the Topping:

1 cup crushed potato chips or breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon melted butter
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cook the Meat: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef (or turkey) along with the diced onion until the meat is fully cooked and the onion is soft, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, frozen mixed vegetables, cooked egg noodles, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well. Add the cooked meat mixture and stir until everything is evenly combined.

Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.

Prepare Topping: In a small bowl, combine the crushed potato chips (or breadcrumbs) with the melted butter. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the casserole, followed by any remaining cheddar cheese.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the casserole is heated through and the topping is golden brown.

Serve: Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired.
